1 May 2017 | Thousands of rebels and civilians in the city of Homs, central Syria, chose to leave their homes, and to decplace to northern Syria instead of a settlement with the Syrian government. The displaced were evacuated with a Russian guarantee that they would not be targeted during their passage from government-controlled areas between the cities of Homs and Idlib
